Scientists will take marijuana higher than it's ever been before, bringing cannabis to the International Space Station to test the effects of growing weed in lower gravity.
According to Dr. Joe Chappell from the bioengineering company Space Tango, gravity "stresses" plants, which then react in a certain way "that allow them to adapt and survive."
The plan is to see what happens to cannabinoid (CBD) production in cannabis when the stress is removed.
Previously Space Tango worked with Anheuser-Busch to grow barley seeds in space, which means it's only a matter of time until there's a giant party up there.
