Tiny Robot Practices Surgical Techniques Aboard ISS

A tiny surgical robot aboard the International Space Station has performed its first "non-human" surgery in zero gravity.

The robot performed multiple operations on simulated tissue while a surgeon back on Earth guided the robot's "hands."

Inventors hope the surgical robot can be used in medical emergencies on spaceflights and in remote areas on Earth that lack adequate health care resources.
