M&Ms is doing away with its beloved "spokescandies."
The Hackettstown-based company says actress Maya Rudolph will be replacing the characters and is set to appear in a new Super Bowl ad.
M&Ms says the classic candy characters are being placed on an "indefinite pause" in favor of a human spokesperson.
The move comes after consumers criticized their recent redesign.
Many online speculating that this all ties in together.
