If you love nature, everyday is "Earth Day" right? You don't need a particular made up excuse to appreciate and take care of it. Anyway, the lowest common denominator not with-standing we do obtain a lot of useful research that's released around the invented day. WalletHub is out with it's 2017 state by state environment comparison & Florida come's out well ahead of most. In fact the only category that Florida is below average in is renewable energy which is instructive given our opportunity to dramatically improve our use of solar.

Here's how we rank nationally by category:

Greenness of Florida (1=Greenest, 25=Avg.):

  • 5th – Energy Consumption per Capita
  • 10th – Air Quality
  • 10th – % of Recycled Municipal Solid Waste
  • 16th – Gasoline Consumption (in Gallons) per Capita
  • 18th – Soil Quality
  • 25th – Water Quality
  • 29th – % of Energy Consumption from Renewable Sources
