A third suspect was arrested in Northwest Miami-Dade Wednesday afternoon, in connection to a man found dead in a burning car at a North Lauderdale park earlier this year.
Jeffrey Harrell, 28, was arrested on a first-degree murder warrant by Broward, Miami-Dade SWAT, and U.S. Marshalls.
Authorities say Harrell barricaded himself inside a home near Northwest 83rd Street and 5th Avenue before surrendering to authorities.
The victim who was found found dead in a burning car earlier this year was identified as 27-year-old Darren Butler. His body was found at Bicentennial Park on November 14th.
Back in November, 26-year-old Johntavis McCoe and 18-year-old Rougeina Deriveire were also arrested in connection to the murder. The Broward Sheriff’s Office says McCoe murdered Butler.
BSO has not released any details about a possible motive for the killing.
Authorities say nobody was hurt during Wednesday’s arrest as Harrell agreed to surrender to SWAT while speaking with officers on the phone.
