A British man’s wedding anniversary in France took a turn for the worse when he found a spider had laid eggs in his toe.
Colin Blake, from Northumberland in the UK, said after his toe turned purple overnight during a cruise so he visited the ship's doctor.
Upon inspection, the physician found that a Peruvian wolf spider had bitten him.
After being given antibiotics to combat the toxins, a "foreign body" or actual spider was cut out of his toe.
"I did ask if I could keep it but they said no,” commented the shocked man.
