The latest person to be arrested for threatening President Trump is being evaluated for his mental health.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Justin Blaxton called 911 to say he wants to assassinate the president.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says mental health issues are a real problem, and that's why his agency started its mental health unit ten years ago.

"Part of it is called the 'Targeted Violence Unit' where we try to get information from people or gain information about people that have the potential to go do something bad before they do it."

He says the unit has prevented potential school shootings and resolved domestic violence issues.

"The whole idea is not to put the people in jail, the idea is (to) get them some help before they go do something wrong."

Blaxton is just the latest local resident to threaten Trump.

In December, a 32-year old Autistic man in Wellington was taken into custody for posting threats to shoot the president on TikTok.

Video of that arrest went viral.

These busts come after an assassination attempt on the then presidential candidate last year at his West Palm Beach golf course. And that came on the back of the July assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

The president plans to spend a fifth weekend in Palm Beach since taking office and next week on Protecting the Palm Beaches, Sheriff Bradshaw talks about the monumental task of working with the Secret Service to protect him.
