In one of his last acts as President, Joe Biden announces he's removing Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism to facilitate the release of political prisoners. John Suarez with the Center for a Free Cuba calls the plan disastrous. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo designated Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism in January of 2021 just days before leaving office. Because of the statues involved, the Trump administration will not be able to reverse this action for at least six months.
