There could be a legal battle brewing between one Treasure Coast city and the county where it sits.
Brightline plans to build a train station in downtown Stuart, but does not have the help of the city after it backed out of a deal with Martin County last year.
The county administrator is telling the Stuart city attorney to provide a letter in support of the county's grant applications for the project.
The county says that not having that letter would make it more difficult to get the grant from the Federal Rail Administration.
The county is giving the city until January 21st to provide the letter or threatens that legal action may be taken.
