West Palm Beach, FL - West Palm Beach broke the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people in dinosaur costumes, with 468 participants surpassing the previous record of 252.

Downtown West Palm Beach witnessed a prehistoric spectacle Friday night as hundreds of people dressed in dinosaur costumes gathered to break a world record.

In an official attempt organized by the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, participants aimed to surpass the previous Guinness World Record of 252 people dressed as dinosaurs, a record held since 2019.

Guinness World Record adjudicator Thomas Bradford confirmed that the goal was to beat 253 participants, with strict rules in place—only dinosaur costumes were allowed, and participants had to remain in costume long enough to be counted.

By the end of the event, the crowd roared past expectations.

Bradford officially announced that 468 participants were dressed as dinosaurs, smashing the previous record and securing West Palm Beach a spot in the Guinness World Records.

This lighthearted yet impressive achievement highlights the community’s enthusiasm and creativity, turning downtown into a Jurassic celebration.
