Delray Beach, FL - A bucket truck fire on Florida’s Turnpike South caused dramatic scenes and temporary lane closures near Delray Beach on Wednesday.
Video footage sent to CBS12 News captured the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing across the roadway near the Atlantic Avenue exit.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the truck's driver was able to safely exit the vehicle before the fire spread.
While lanes were initially closed to manage the incident, traffic flow has since resumed.
FHP investigators believe the fire was caused by an engine failure, though the exact circumstances remain under review.
