The man accused in the second attempted assassination of President-elect Trump is now going to face a state charge of felony attempted murder.
Attorney General Ashley Moody was in Martin County, where Ryan Routh was picked up by state troopers as he drove along I-95 after he allegedly pointed a rifle towards Trump at the Trump International golf course in West Palm Beach last September.
"As the stop was made and traffic was slow, an accident happened and a little girl was seriously injured and almost died."
Moody says the new charge against Routh will help to bring justice to the young girl and her family.
She says the feds have been fighting the state's efforts to bring charges against Routh who is in federal custody.
