A Mexican man in the country illegally is being held without bond in connection to an alleged sexual assault in Martin County.
Deputies say 31-year old Jose Gregorio Flores Villa broke into a woman's home and raped her at gunpoint Sunday night.
He was arrested on Monday while it's believed the suspect was driving to the victim's home. Lieutenant Yesenia Carde with the Sheriff's Office tells CBS 12 News that there would have been no other reason for Flores Villa to have been near the Hobe Sound exit of I-95.
"These types of cases, they're the most urgent. We don't need pedophiles or predators on our streets. So whether they're undocumented or American citizens, there's no room for them in society."
Immigration authorities now have a detainer on the man who also has a history of mental illness. He was Baker Acted in October.
