A teen on a sport bike is dead after a crash involving a Tesla.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says it happened on Saturday night in the Westlake community.
18-year old Derek Machin of West Palm Beach was reportedly driving a Ninja Kawasaki at a high rate of speed along northbound Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. The Tesla was going southbound and attempting to turn left when the sport bike smashed into the passenger side of the Tesla.
Machin was pronounced dead at the scene. No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to investigators. The driver of the Tesla was airlifted to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
