Broward County Schools Revises 2024-25 Calendar Due To Hurricanes

Broward County, FL - Broward County Public Schools has made adjustments to its 2024-25 school calendar in response to school closures caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The revised calendar includes the following changes:

  • January 6, 2025: Previously an employee planning day, this day has now been designated as a regular school day for students.
  • First Semester End: The first semester will now conclude on January 9, 2025.
  • January 10, 2025: This day has been changed from a regular school day to an employee planning day.
  • Severe Weather Days: November 25 and 26, 2024, and March 31, 2025, have been added as severe weather days.


The district emphasized that the changes did not affect the exam schedules.

The revised calendar was approved during a special school board meeting on Tuesday.
