Miami, FL - A high-end jeweler is suing retired boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his company alleging that the boxer owes him nearly $4 million for luxury watches and diamond jewelry purchased in 2021.
According to a lawsuit filed in Miami federal court on August 23rd, Leonard Sulaymanov, owner of Lenzo & Co., is accusing Mayweather and his company, The Mayweather Team, of fraud, breach of contract, and other financial crimes.
The suit also names rapper Tyga for failing to pay for a Rolex.
In the lawsuit, Sulaymanov sold Mayweather a variety of expensive jewelry, including Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, and Rolex watches, as well as diamond rings and necklaces.
The purchases were made during a series of meetings at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach in late June 2021.
Sulaymanov claims that Mayweather and his associates used fraudulent tactics to obtain the jewelry without paying for it.
He alleges that Mayweather's agent, Jona Rechnitz, arranged the meetings and pressured Sulaymanov to hand over his phone to ensure privacy during the transactions.
Sulaymanov claims he secretly recorded the purchases and the down payments.
After the initial purchases, Sulaymanov alleges that Mayweather and Tyga requested additional jewelry, which Sulaymanov provided.
However, Sulaymanov claims that Mayweather and Tyga failed to pay the full amount owed, despite repeated promises to do so.
The lawsuit includes screenshots of text messages allegedly from Rechnitz confirming that Sulaymanov is owed $1.8 million for the watches.
Sulaymanov claims he never received any payments "despite the defendant's written promise" to wire the funds.
The lawsuit says Mayweather owes an additional $2 million for the diamond ring and necklace.
Sulaymanov is seeking $4 million in damages, plus interest and attorney's fees.
Mayweather has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
