Fort Myers Beach, FL - A combination of storm surge, heavy rain, and high tide inundated Fort Myers Beach on Sunday as Tropical Storm Debby moved through the Gulf of Mexico.

The storm caused significant flooding, turning roads into rivers and impacting homes and businesses.

Local officials warned residents of the heightened risk due to debris from Hurricane Ian potentially resurfacing in the water.

As Debby strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane, Governor Ron DeSantis activated the National Guard and urged residents to evacuate and prepare for flooding.

The storm's outer bands brought tornado, storm surge, and flood watches to the area, and power outages were reported.
