Para-athlete Kevin Piette made history by carrying the Olympic torch using an exoskeleton.

The French Paralympic tennis player lost the use of his legs due to a motorcycle accident in 2012.

He was able to walk upright with the help of the robotic device during the iconic Torch Relay.

As one of the first testers, the Olympic Committee says, "Piette has contributed to its improvement, even taking part in 'cybathlons,' which are competitions in which people with disabilities use assistive technologies to carry out everyday activities."
