The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a scam involving text messages leading would-be victims to think they are from SunPass.

The messages falsely claim there is a past-due balance in their accounts and include a link.

PBSO says don't click on that link because it is an attempt to obtain person information.

If you receive a text message like this, you are advised to verify the information through your actual SunPass account.
