South Florida is participating in the Guiness Book of World Records' World's Largest Swimming Lesson today. Swim instructor Miran Oca says group lessons will cover basic swim strokes, water safety, pool security and the importance of adult supervision. Florida has the highest number of drownings in the country. Forty-six children have died by drowning in the sunshine state this year alone. Studies show swim lessons can reduce that risk by 88-percent.
