We're learning more about a suspect accused of violently attacking a woman in a Publix parking lot last week.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office has updated the public on the incident that led to the arrest of 37-year old Carlos Manuel Lozada.

Sheriff-elect John Budensiek says the New York man had just left a drug rehab facility when he took an Uber to the Stuart Publix and wanted to get back home.

Lozada is accused of grabbing the woman's belongings and car keys and stealing her car before deputies caught up with him down the road.

A PIT maneuver was used and the vehicle flipped into the air and then slammed into a tree.

When he gets out of the hospital, Lozada will face several charges.

Lozada's extensive criminal history includes arrests for burglary, fraud and credit card theft in Florida alone.
