A BSO deputy has apparently taken his own life in a Homestead field. The department releasing a statement saying in part: "This is a challenging day for our agency as we try to help each other through the unexpected loss of one of our deputies." It says the deputy was a 16-year veteran.
A woman rushed to the scene after learning an extended family member is the victim.
