Marion County, FL - Deputies have announced the arrest of a 14-year-old boy for the brutal sexual assault of a 91-year-old woman inside her Marion County home earlier this month.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) announced the arrest of Jesse Stone for the June 9th assault.
According to MCSO, the victim awoke around midnight on June 9th to find an intruder in her home.
The victim was then beaten and sexually assaulted by the assailant.
The victim told detectives the suspect "pounced" on her, punched her, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the home.
The arrest affidavit states that the day before the attack, the victim spoke with a neighborhood youth named "Randy John," who was later identified as Stone.
The victim described John as a "good" boy whom she hadn't seen in a while.
The investigation took a turn when Stone allegedly approached detectives claiming a neighbor had security footage they wanted them to see.
The footage captured a figure resembling Stone jogging past the house the night before the attack.
Stone denied being the figure, but DNA evidence linked him to the assault.
On June 13th, Stone was located at North Marion High School and questioned by detectives who say he admitted to entering the victim's home to watch pornography before attacking her in her bedroom.
Stone was arrested on charges of sexual battery and burglary.
He is currently being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice.
