Man Threatens Cashier, Attempts To Run Over Store Manager During Dispute

Winter Springs, FL - A Winter Springs man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly threatening a Walgreens cashier before trying to run over the store's manager and another customer with his car.

Police were dispatched to the Walgreens on State Road 434 on Sunday following reports of a disturbance.

According to the arrest report, 31-year-old Juan Matos entered the store and became disruptive, threatening a cashier and making inappropriate advances.

The cashier contacted her father for help, and the manager instructed her to hide in the back office for her safety.

The manager and the victim's father then confronted Matos and asked him to leave the store, following him outside to ensure his departure.

Investigators say Matos then got into his car and recklessly reversed towards the manager and the victim's father, apparently attempting to run them over.

Surveillance footage reportedly corroborates the victim's account.

Police located Matos at his residence and apprehended him as he exited his car.

The arrest report details Matos' claim that the cashier made false accusations and that the victim's father initiated physical contact by hitting his car.

However, Matos later admitted to police that he intended to strike the father with his vehicle.

Matos was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He is currently jailed on a $10,000 bond.
