The Florida Panthers Start Stanley Cup Run At Home Tonight

The Florida Panthers begin their second consecutive Stanley Cup chase from Amerant Bank Arena at 8 o'clock tonight. Panther pride is visible across South Florida. Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis says the city is covered in bright red banners and hyped-up fans are, flocking to local bars, restaurants and the new IcePlex to catch all the action. No word yet on exactly what that amounts to. The Panthers have home ice advantage Saturday and Monday before they jet off to Edmonton for an eight hour flight, marking the longest distance between Stanley Cup finalists in NHL history. Broward County Transit is offering 2-dollar express shuttle service to Amerant Bank Arena throughout the best-out-of-seven series from Government Center West.
