FAU is getting ready to launch another search for a president.

Florida Atlantic's Board of Trustees met on Tuesday and announced that a search committee has been chosen and it's comprised of 15 students, faculty, community and business leaders. None of the members of the new committee served on the previous committee which was embroiled in controversy.

The board also voted to begin the search for a firm to help in the university's search for a permanent president.

The previous search firm was accused of asking inappropriate screening questions of candidates and rating possible candidates among themselves. The search was called off last summer.

John Kelly stepped down as FAU president in 2022 and Stacy Volnick has been the interim president since.

The goal of the Board of Trustees is to have a new president in place by early next year.
