State Supreme Court Hears University Of Florida COVID Case

The State Supreme Court hearing arguments in a potential class-action lawsuit against the University of Florida filed by a graduate student who wants his fees back because of a campus shutdown during COVID. Attorney Mark Eiglarsh thinks the suit, seeking refunds of fees, will be dismissed. He says U-F is protected by sovereign immunity, a legal concept protecting government agencies from liability. This suit is one of numerous similar cases filed in Florida and across the country.
