Escaped Florida Prisoner Found in Woman's Car

Orlando, FL - An escaped prisoner from Orlando was apprehended by Lady Lake Police after being discovered in a woman's driveway.

Jesse James Hall, an escaped prisoner from Orlando, was apprehended by Lady Lake Police after being discovered in a woman's driveway, giving her a significant scare.

Bodycam footage captured the moment when officers confronted Hall on Carriage Lane.

Hall initially gave officers a false name, "Jesse Hillman," but his true identity was revealed through fingerprint analysis.

According to Lady Lake Police Chief Steve Hunt, Hall had been on the run since last Wednesday.

He had been sentenced for grand theft and felony drug charges and was out on a work release program within the Orlando prison system.

However, he left the program and was considered an escaped prisoner.

Early Sunday morning, a woman on Carriage Lane heard her car alarm going off and went outside to investigate.

To her surprise, she found Hall sitting inside her BMW. "He grabbed her arm, she was able to run out of the car and retreat to her house, and she called 911," Hunt said.

Hall was booked into the Lake County jail on charges of burglary, battery, and resisting arrest.

Officers arrived at the scene three minutes after the woman called 911 and found Hall walking around outside.

According to the police report, Hall claimed he was in the area visiting a woman he knew.

"He was in the area visiting an acquaintance," Hunt said, "so we don't know what his motives were with this lady's car."
