Father Charged After A Toddler Is Killed In Pembroke Pines

An autopsy being performed on a 2-year-old girl found profusely bleeding from her neck at her dad's house in Pembroke Pines Tuesday. Police Sergeant Jason Palant says they've charged 33-year-old Jeronimo Duran with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. His grandmother called 9-1-1 after walking into the home on Southwest 177th Avenue and seeing her lifeless body. A knife was found on scene. Court documents show Duran was in a custody battle with the child's mother who claims he suffers from mental illness and has been Baker Acted five times. He's being held at the Broward jail without bond.
