Middle School On Treasure Coast Locked Down Due To Note About Bomb

School Threat - West Palm Beach

A Vero Beach middle school was placed under a temporary shelter-in-place order on Wednesday after a note was found, alleging there was a bomb on campus.

This happened at Storm Grove Middle around 10 a.m.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office says the Code Yellow Lockdown was put into effect after a student found the note on a locker and alerted a teacher, who reached out to law enforcement. After a search of the building, no device was found and the Code Yellow was lifted by 11:30.

Later, the Sheriff's Office said a person of interest was identified. Investigators have met with the student and parents but no charges have been filed at this time.
