Former President Trump was not in a Fort Pierce courtroom today but his classified documents case was.

Federal Judge Aileen Cannon heard from defense attorneys who are trying to have the case dismissed.

Wednesday's hearing was the first since the judge delayed the start of the trial indefinitely. It was originally set to start this week, but Trump has been busy with his criminal hush money trial in New York. Judge Cannon also ruled that there are too many pre-trial issues to iron out.

The former president obtained permission to skip the hearing about claims that the indictment suffers technical flaws.

The hearing being held a day after court documents were made public that show the Department of Justice authorized the use of deadly force during the FBI's raid on Mar-a-Lago.

No word on what, if anything, was decided at the court hearing.
