A dog is recovering after an alligator attack in Palm Beach County last week.

It happened on the banks of a canal near Lake Worth Road and Congress Avenue.

The Brady Hunter Foundation, an organization that supports animals, says someone found the dog which has been named "Brady," with severe damage to its front leg.

Brady was brought to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control where the nonprofit Furry Friends had a veterinarian work to stabilize the dog, which included amputation of the leg.

The Brady Hunter Foundation has pledged $5,000 to cover a portion of the surgical costs. Animal nonprofit Rescue Life will oversee arrangements to ensure Brady receives the best possible care.
