The FBI out with a warning for elderly Floridians being bilked out of billions from savvy fraudsters. Special Agent Zacaharia Baldwin says the 2023 Elder Fraud Report shows Florida ranks second in the nation for the number of reported losses from tech support and impersonation scams. He says fraudsters are using A-I software to mimic a person's voice, so the victim often thinks they're speaking directly to a relative. Floridians lost more than 90 million in investment schemes and over 40 million in romance scams.
