Broward School Board Meets After Dismantling School Closure Plan

The Broward School Board meeting for the first time since Superintendent Howard Hepubrn announced he's not planning on closing any schools for under enrollment. Board Member Sarah Leonardi says they do have attendance issues, but they can be solved by reconfiguring schools with new programming and boundaries. The original plan, unveiled when former Superintendent Peter Licata was at the helm, called for closing forty-two schools, cutting magnet programs and school choice.
