Miami-Dade, FL - A wild car chase unfolded in Miami-Dade on Thursday when a woman stole a Honda Civic during a test drive at Honda of South Miami.
According to police, 27-year-old Melina N. Logan allegedly stole the vehicle from a dealership on South Dixie Highway when the salesperson got out of the vehicle.
Police were dispatched, and a pursuit ensued on Palmetto Expressway.
The chase reached an end near Northwest 25th Street in Doral when Logan, after crashing into several cars, made a bid to escape by jumping into a lake behind Jackson West Medical Center.
Authorities say police were able to apprehend Logan and take her into custody.
Police confirmed Logan reportedly shed her clothing during Thursday’s escape attempt.
She's facing charges of grand theft and third-degree battery on a police officer.
