Governor Ron DeSantis has directed Florida's colleges and universities to ensure graduations happen and don't get derailed by anti-Israel protests like what's occurred in other states.

Treasure Coast Republican State Rep. John Snyder gave the commencement address for graduates at Palm Beach State College this week.

"While the Ivy Leagues might not have figured out how to pull off college graduation this year, I am proud to stand here at an institution that stands, salutes our flag, honors our national anthem."

During his speech at Cacti Park of the Palm Beaches on Tuesday, the former Marine urged the more than 1,900 grads in attendance to fight off the challenges of life, saying their enemies they will face include laziness and excuses.

Snyder joined the Marine Corps in 2007, at the height of the global war on terror, and was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020.
