Monroe County, FL - A Monroe County teenager was arrested for making a false bomb and gun threat against her Islamorada high school last week.
On Friday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) addressed a potential threat at Coral Shores High School in Tavernier.
According to MCSO spokesperson Adam Linhardt, a tip from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations indicated a bomb threat and potential shooting at the school.
Following an investigation, authorities determined the threats were a hoax.
A 16-year-old, identified as Ava Carol Patterson, was arrested for making false reports concerning explosives and firearms.
Linhardt revealed the investigation showed Patterson fabricated the threats and named individuals involved due to a personal dispute.
A thorough search of Coral Shores High School by investigators yielded no weapons or suspicious items.
MCSO did not disclose further details about Friday's arrest.
