Monroe County, FL - An 82-year-old Florida man was arrested on felony charges after firing a gun during a domestic dispute with his wife on Tuesday.
82-year-old Arthur Leigh Spencer is facing felony charges after allegedly firing three gunshots during a domestic argument with his 75-year-old wife.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at their residence in Bay Point when the victim returned home after spending time with a friend.
Upon arriving home, the victim found the bedroom door locked.
Fearing something was wrong, she used a hammer to force entry into the bedroom, which startled Spencer, who was allegedly nude and armed with a .38 caliber revolver in the bedroom.
The report states that Spencer fired three rounds into the adjoining bathroom and ordered his wife to leave.
Responding to the incident, deputies found Spencer in the guest bedroom and recovered the firearm.
He reportedly admitted feeling his wife was cheating and became upset when she didn't return home immediately.
Spencer is being held without bond on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in a dwelling.
His arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 3rd.
