As Donald Trump meets at Mar-a-Lago on Friday afternoon with House Speaker Mike Johnson to discuss election integrity, attorneys for the former president's co-defendants in his classified documents case will be in a courtroom to the north.

Earlier this month, Fort Pierce Federal Judge Aileen Cannon declined Trump's request to throw out charges against him.

He had cited the Presidential Immunity Act, saying that the documents he brought from the White House to his Palm Beach home belonged to him.

Now, Walt Nauta and Carlos D'Olivera try to get their charges in the case dismissed.

Both men worked for Trump at Mar-a-Lago and are charged with conspiring to hide boxes of documents. Their attorneys are claiming the men didn't know what was in the boxes.

Meanwhile, the former president's hush money criminal trial in New York gets underway on Monday.
