Miami, FL - A South Florida man is facing serious charges after allegedly attacking and robbing his 91-year-old father last week.
According to police, 34-year-old Adam Jose Gonzalez allegedly approached his father on Friday morning, requesting help at their Miami-Dade residence.
When his father declined to assist, Gonzalez allegedly choked him from behind and stole his cell phone and wallet containing approximately $170 in cash, bank cards, and a bus pass.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. at a residence near the intersection of Northwest 22nd Street and 19th Avenue.
Police arrested Gonzalez on Friday afternoon and booked him into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Gonzalez remained jailed as of Saturday afternoon on charges of strongarm robbery, battery of an elderly person, and battery domestic strangulation.
His arraignment before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Daryl E. Trawick is forthcoming.
