Miami-Dade school officials are, in their words, deeply concerned about what happened on a recent field trip.
Students from Charles R. Drew K-through-8 Center went to the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair on Tuesday, but at least three of them were stranded there when the bus went back to the school without them. Latasha Jones' six-year-old son was one of those who was abandoned, and she says she's angry.
Her son wound up getting a ride back to the school from the mother of another student who was at the fair. That parent wound up driving four kids back, and she says if it wasn't for her, those kids would have been left wandering around. She wants those responsible removed from the school.
The district says it's investigating, and appropriate action will be taken.
