Hunger and homelessness are a reality in South Florida. The homeless on the streets of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties could be veterans, single moms, teens, people with mental illness, or your former neighbor or friend who’s fallen on hard times.

This Easter and Passover season, WIOD is joining forces with The Caring Place, Miami Rescue Mission, and Broward Outreach Center to help sponsor 20,000 meals to feed the Homeless and Hungry in South Florida.

This Good Friday, we are hosting our 6th Annual Radio Share-A-Thon.

With The Caring Place's street outreach, our homeless and hungry experience a wonderful Easter lunch and the children meet the Easter Bunny. WIOD will be broadcasting live from 10a to 12p.

It costs $2.10 for one meal and $42 for 20 meals, and for every meal donation, special sponsors will match each donation up to 10,000 meals. Your meals will be doubled, so 10,000 meals will become 20,000 meals, our overall goal, and you don’t have to wait till Good Friday. You can start now!

Please help us reach our goal! CLICK HERE TO DONATE NOW.

Listen live to WIOD to hear special interviews and live updates, all day.

Thank you from Andrew Colton, Manny Munoz, Josh Hammer, Jimmy Cefalo, and all of us here at NewsRadio 610, WIOD.
