Marion County, FL - A 20-year-old Canadian man is facing charges after making hoax calls to two Florida schools and threatening a shooting and hostage situation.

Authorities say William Tuckett, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was arrested at his home by local police following an investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

The investigation into Tuckett began in February when Marion County deputies received a 911 call reporting an active shooter at Dunnellon Middle School.

Audio of the call made by Tuckett reveals the caller identifying himself as "Nick" who threatened to enter the school and start shooting.

The next day, a second hoax call was made reporting a hostage situation in Ocala.

Investigators determined that both calls originated from Tuckett.

The investigation revealed Tuckett had been communicating online with a 13-year-old girl in Marion County and believed they were in a relationship.

The hoax calls reportedly began after the girl stopped communicating with him.

Tuckett was arrested on multiple charges including public mischief and conveying false information.

He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Sault Ste. Marie on April 22nd.
