During Tuesday's Presidential Preference Primary in Florida, 23 Palm Beach County municipalities held elections.

Included among them were mayoral races in eight municipalities. All were decided except for one.

There will be a runoff in Lake Worth Beach, where incumbent Mayor Betty Resch is leading the race, but with 48-percent of the vote and not the required 50 percent plus one. She will have a runoff with former City Commissioner Andy Amoroso.

In Wellington, Village Council member Michael Napoleone has won the race for mayor with 80 percent of the vote over Bart Novack. He will be replacing termed out Anne Gerwig.

In Greenacres, former City Council member Chuck Shaw who was also a longtime Palm Beach County School Board member, wins the race for mayor. He beat out two-term council member and deputy mayor Jonathan Pearce.

Incumbent Hypoluxo Mayor Michael Brown wins re-election.

Juno Beach voters chose a new mayor last night. Vice Mayor Peggy Wheeler defeated incumbent Mayor Alexander Cooke. This marked the first time residents in the town got to elect the mayor, versus the Town Council voting on one.

In Lantana, Incumbent Mayor Karen Lythgoe wins reelection over challenger George Velazquez.

Royal Palm Beach voters chose to keep longtime Village Council member and Mayor Frederick Pinto in office. He was challenged by political newcomer Steve Avila. It will be Pinto's sixth term as mayor.

A former Delray Beach Mayor will be returning to the office as voters chose Tom Carney to be the new Mayor, over current Vice Mayor Ryan Boylston and former Commissioner Shirley Johnson.

There were also many city, town and village council races across the county.
