Utility Scams Targeted On The 26th Annual National Consumer Protection Week

Utility scams and energy conservation top of mind as The Florida Public Service Commission meets with residents in Broward. Spokeswoman Cindy Muir says scammers will text or email you -falsely identifying themselves from your utility company saying you need to pay, or your power will be turned off. If you're trying to lower your bill, you can do an energy audit, update old appliances and change out old lights for LED ones. The visits to Northeast Focal Point Senior Centers in Deerfield Beach and Margate are all part of the 26th annual National Consumer Protection Week.
