The Cognizant Classic golf tournament is getting another name tweak.

The event that was known as the Honda Classic for more than 40 years got a name change a month ago, after Honda dropped out.

The AI tech company Cognizant signed on and now so has the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and Discover the Palm Beaches.

When the tournament begins on February 26, it will be named the "Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches."

"We want everybody to remember where exactly the tournament is. It's a million tourists that we have a year. It reminds people that this is an event that we have ongoing, here in our county."

County Commissioner and former golf pro Maria Marino tells CBS 12 News how the sponsorship is being paid for.

"It is not coming from your tax dollars. This is not ad valorem taxes. This is from bed taxes. So, basically it is money that is gathered from tourists that come and stay in our county."

She says the money is an investment to continue bringing tourists into the county for the event each year.

The event is still played at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens.
