Man Arrested for Illegally Accessing South Florida Woman's Bedroom Camera

North Lauderdale, FL - A South Florida man has been arrested after he illegally accessed a woman's bedroom camera while she was on a Facetime call with friends.

According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, the camera pointed towards the victim's bed and was compromised by 40-year-old Maury Rodriguez, as revealed by investigations led by a detective in North Lauderdale.

Rodriguez took deliberate steps to conceal his intrusion, using tape to obscure the camera's "ON" indicator and inserting a removable memory card for data storage.

Furthermore, Rodriguez accessed the camera's application, enabling him to spy on the unsuspecting woman.

Law enforcement acted swiftly, taking Rodriguez into custody before 8:35 p.m. on Sunday.

He was detained at the Broward County main jail located in Fort Lauderdale.

The charges against him include video voyeurism.
