Three Men Arrested for Stealing Golf Cart Belonging to Sheriff's Office

Lee County, FL - Three men have been arrested after stealing a golf cart that belonged to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The men, identified as 33-year-old Yosvani Otero Llanes, 38-year-old Deyni Gaunche Martinez, and 44-year-old Carlos F. Vega were spotted by deputies loading the golf cart into their covered trailer along North River Road in Alva.

The golf cart was equipped with a GPS tracker, which allowed deputies to track the suspects to LaBelle.

Deputies surrounded the suspects and found the golf cart, along with a boat motor and two boat GPS systems, all of which had been reported stolen out of Charlotte County.

The men were arrested and charged with several crimes, including grand theft of a motor vehicle.

"We are pleased to have apprehended these suspects and recovered the stolen property," said Sheriff Carmine Marceno. "Our deputies did an excellent job of tracking the suspects and apprehending them without incident."

The suspects are currently being held in the Lee County Jail.
