Altercation at Car Show Ends in Arrest for Villages Resident

The Villages, FL - A 76-year-old resident of The Villages was arrested following an incident at a car show where he allegedly became "belligerent" after being denied entry and intentionally reversed his vehicle into a car show staff member.

According to the Lady Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene near Alverez Avenue and Main Street on Saturday afternoon in response to a collision involving a car show staff member.

Police say the driver, identified as Anthony Guerra, became "belligerent" after being denied entry to the show, leading to his expulsion due to aggressive behavior.

Investigators say Guerra, displeased with the situation, threw a piece of paper at another staff member and intentionally reversed his vehicle into the victim.

The injured worker received medical attention at the hospital, and Guerra was later located by the police.

Guerra claimed staff had allowed another group of cars to enter before him, even though he was denied access.

He asserted that the victim used offensive language, prompting him to reverse his vehicle, and insisted that he didn't see the victim until they were already on the back of his car.

Guerra was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

He was released on Sunday after posting a $5,000 bond.
