Ave Maria, FL - A 21-year-old woman died after being crushed by a golf cart in Ave Maria on Friday afternoon.
According to Collier County deputies, the fatal incident occurred at a home on Corrado Avenue.
Authorities say the woman was pinned under the golf cart and suffered fatal injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but deputies say it appears to have been an accident.
Crime scene tape surrounded the garage where the accident occurred, and authorities towed away the golf cart.
Neighbors told WINK News they were shocked and saddened by the news.
They say the victim was a kind and friendly young woman.
"It's just a tragedy," one neighbor told WINK News. "I can't believe it."
